Biking shoes for gym and road riding?

Cycle shoes – for indoor AND outdoor?
I’m a newb cyclist – I need a bike shoe for road rides (NOT mountain) and indoor rides and spin class… Help? I’m female and can’t spend over $65.00

This shoe should fit the bill, provided you have spd clipless pedals. This is a touring shoe, not just a mountain shoe.

Any shoe that accepts spd cleats will do, but these should fit your budget. If you want something more road bike specific, you better shop your local bike shops for on sale items. $65.00 is low for road specific shoes.

If you ride regular platform pedals, buy your favorite walking shoes.

You should also keep in mind that you should buy pedals that use the same cleats as the ones on the bikes in your spin class. Most of these bikes use Shimano compatible spd style cleats like you would use for mountain biking. Mountain bike pedals work very well for road riding, double sided entry makes it easy for beginners, and the shoes are easy to walk in. If you check the sales in your local bike shops you should be able to find a touring type shoe that will also work well indoors.
